The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) is a barred sprial galaxy and is the nearest galaxy to our galaxy, the Milky Way.
This photo is my third attempt of photographing the Andromeda Galaxy. It is the first time I've combined Ha data with RGB data.
IC 1805 - The Heart Nebula
2 October 2023
HA: 2.2 hrs
OIII: 2.33 hrs
SII: 1.6 hrs
The Heart Nebula (IC 1805) is an emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia, located roughly 7500 light years away from Earth.
This photo was the first image I processed using a new set of processes in PixInsight. These processes are what allowed me to start creating photos with less noise and more detail.
NGC 1499 - California Nebula
15 October 2022
HA: 3.75 hrs
OIII: 3.67 hrs
SII: 1.67 hrs
The California Nebula (NGC 1499) is an emission nebula located in the constellation Perseus. It is located roughly 1000 light years away from Earth.
This final image is a reprocess of older data that I took before I started using PixInsight. I followed similar steps that I took to process my Heart Nebula photograph.
NGC 281 - Pacman Nebula
28 September 2023
HA: 2.5 hrs
OIII: 2.5 hrs
SII: 2.5 hrs
The Pacman Nebula (NGC 281) is a bright emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is located roughly 9500 light years away from Earth.
This photo was taken before I had properly figured out noise reduction. I plan to reprocess this photo in the future.
M45 - The Pleiades (Seven Sisters)
2 January 2025
L: 1.67 hrs
R: 1 hrs
G: 1.25 hrs
B: 1.25 hrs
The Pleiades (M45) is an open star cluster located in the constellation Taurus. It is located roughly 444 light years away from Earth.
This photo was captured with the ZWO ASI1600MM mono camera using L, R, G, and B filters. I had recently rebuilt my telescope rig and this was the first night using the new setup.
